Brake Pads Wear

The rail wheel and in particular the brake and its interaction with the wheel represent a decisive factor in the sphere of safety and quality of railway transport. There is the necessity to systematically check the decisive risk factors and especially the brake status.

The Brake Pad Wear Measuring System acts as the depot's check gate. In one step, through the use of no-contact technology, the system measures the brake pad wear of both out-going and incoming trains, and provides the base information to run an appropriate maintenance plan, keeping brake pads within the quality standards.

The processing system performs the analysis of the measured parameters and comparison to defined tolerance thresholds. Alarms are automatically sent to the maintenace staff when unusual conditions are detected.
